All the people of the country celebrated Pahela Baisakh. Even if they can’t go out, many people wear Boishakh clothes at home and take pictures and post them on social media. Therefore, Pahela Boishakh was celebrated throughout the day by welcoming the New Year in a family atmosphere. Due to the outbreak of coronavirus, people across the country are now confined to their homes for a month-long public holiday. As a result, this is a very dull New Year’s Eve. This is the first time after independence that Pahela Boishakh was not celebrated officially. Similarly, it has been reported in various places outside the capital that this year’s Baisakh has been celebrated at home. Many families prepare Bengali food at home with panta hilsa, mango-dal, shuntki, black cumin, sesame and potato filling to meet the needs of sons and daughters. They themselves celebrated the Boishakh festival at home. Parents did not allow their children to leave the house even in village houses.

দেশবাসী সকলে পালন করলো পহেলা বৈশাখ। বাইরে যেতে না পারলেও অনেকে ঘরেই বৈশাখের পোশাক পরে ছবি তুলে যোগাযোগ মাধ্যমে পোস্ট করে। Salma Chowdhury 14 Apr 2020 . ঘরের বাইরে যাওয়ার জো নেই। যারা জরুরি কাজে বেরিয়েছেন তারাই নানা স্থানে বাধার সম্মুখীন হন। ঘোরাঘুরির তো প্রশ্নই ওঠে না। তাই ঘরে বসেই পারিবারিক আবহে নববর্ষকে স্বাগত জানিয়ে দিনভর পালিত হলো পহেলা বৈশাখ। করোনাভাইরাসের প্রকোপে প্রায় মাসব্যাপী সাধারণ ছুটিতে এখন গৃহবন্দি সারাদেশের মানুষ। ফলে এবার অনেকটাই চাঞ্চল্যহীন নববর্ষ বরণ উৎসব। স্বাধীনতার পর এবারই প্রথম আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে পহেলা বৈশাখ উদযাপিত হয়নি। এমনিভাবে রাজধানী ও রাজধানীর বাইরে বিভিন্ন স্থানে খবর নিয়ে জানা গেছে, এবারের বৈশাখ অনেকে ঘরেই পালন করেছেন। অনেক পরিবার ছেলে-মেয়ের আবদার মেটানোর জন্য বাড়িতেই পান্তা ইলিশ, আম-ডাল, শুঁটকি, কালোজিরা, তিল ও আলুর ভর্তাসহ বাংলা খাবারের আয়োজন করে বাসায় বাসায়। নিজেরাই পারিবারিকভাবে ঘরের মধ্যে পালন করেছে বৈশাখের উৎসব। গ্রামের বাড়িতেও বাবা-মা তাদের ছেলে-মেয়েদের ঘর থেকে বের হতে দেননি।
